										The "Gone Til November" Official Launch of the Jazz by Genre series with jazz-funk icon Roy Ayers and his  band ignites on Sunday, November 27th at The Mod  Club!!! The opening act features a sensational,  show-stopping 2-set performance of jazz music's latest  sub-genre "Breakjazz" with jazz-groove ensemble KUSH (featuring Etric Lyons &Robert Sibony) jamming with Juno award-winner Eddie Bullen and s pecial guests - multi award-winner Nick "The Brownman" Ali (recently voted NOW Magazine's 2005 Jazz Artist of the Year), world-renowned saxophonist, Arturo Tappin (currently on tour with Roberta Flack, and joining us courtesy of the Barbados Jazz Festival - one of our co-sponsors), and award-winning  DJ/Turntablist, J-Tec  !!   
										  
										Also performing on this special night of up-tempo jazz will be Spoken Word artists Anne Marie Woods (a.k.a. Amani) and Al St. Louis (When Words are Spoken). DJ Jason Palma keeps the  jazzy vibes flowing for intermissions and the post-show 'jam.'  Don't miss this  one...

											JAZZ BY GENRE  
											 
											A new jazz series and festival format designed to represent and showcase  jazz through various genres of music. Jazz by Genre is produced by the Nu Jazz Society, a federally incorporated non-profit organization, whose principle  aims are to (i) expand the range and reach of jazz music; (ii) develop and  leverage the jazz arts; (iii) promote greater cultural and musical diversity in jazz; (iv) encourage youth in the study and practice of jazz; and (v) produce world-class concerts  and festivals!  
											 
											The Jazz by Genre series will run every 3  months before launching its annual jazz festival in summer 2006.  The next installment in the series will be "Caribbean Jazz." For this event, currently scheduled for March 2006, Nick "The Brownman" Ali will lead an  ensemble cast of local musical jazz greats for some hip-shaking Caribbean jazz & 'breakjazz.'  Stay tuned for info on our surprise Caribbean Jazz Headliner...
