BRW Spotlights Black-Owned Restaurants across Canada for its Spring Edition

Participating restaurants will offer a prix fixe menu from May 16 - 22, 2022

Toronto, April 26, 2022 – ByBlacks.com, Canada’s top-ranked online magazine for Black Canadians, announces the launch of the 2022 Spring Edition of ByBlacks Restaurant Week (BRW)  in support of Black-owned Restaurants, Chefs and Caterers across the nation.

The event runs from May 16 to 22, 2022 and features Black-owned Canadian restaurants with exclusive, prix fixe menu, which includes an appetizer, entree and dessert within the range of $16 to $32. BRW provides the opportunity to sample Black cuisine at discounted rates and rally the support of local communities.

“We feel that Black-owned restaurants aren’t getting the exposure they deserve and with restrictions presented by the pandemic, their businesses have been impacted severely,” said Roger Dundas, Co-Founder and Publisher. “We recognize there is a lack of awareness and support for Black Canadian food entrepreneurs; BRW provides a week of intense focus on the participating restaurants.”

ByBlacks Restaurant Week (BRW) aims to normalize African and Caribbean food as mainstream staples and encourage existing and new customers to patronize Black-owned restaurants well beyond the duration of the program.

The participating locales signed up so far include Vancouver, Hamilton, Toronto, and Brampton to date. Each restaurant will offer a prix fixe menu from their existing menu, of delectable dishes that exhibits the authentic tastes of African and Caribbean cuisine.

Restaurants will be offering curbside pickup and/or delivery via platforms such as Skip The Dishes, and DoorDash, popular with Black-owned restaurants.

BRW is supported by sponsors JN Money; and Black Canadian business membership organizations; Afro Canadian Business NetworkBlack Business and Professional Association, Black Business Association of British Columbia, and the African Caribbean Canadian Association of Hamilton.

The list of participating restaurants will be available from May 1, 2022, and updated daily.
