March 15th – In celebration of International Women’s Month, acclaimed writer and director KhaRå Martin, Canadian Screen Award winner and host of "Black Community Mixtapes" on CTV, presents "Coming Home", a moving musical tribute to Black women’s resilience, artistry, and impact.
This stunning production tells the powerful stories of three trailblazing icons—Nina Simone, Josephine Baker, and Jessye Norman—through the rich jazz, blues, classical, and opera musical traditions.
Starring:
- Precious Osarenkhoe as Nina Simone – The voice of the civil rights movement and soul legend.
- KhaRa Martin as Josephine Baker– The fearless entertainer, French Resistance spy, and activist.
-Christina Smith as Jessye Norman– The operatic powerhouse who broke racial barriers on the world stage.
