Toronto’s summer heats up with the return of Island Eats Food & Travel Festival taking place at Mel Lastman Square on Saturday, June 14th, from 1 PM to 10 PM, and Sunday, June 15th, from 1 PM to 8 PM. This free two-day outdoor event offers guests a vibrant celebration of the islands - with no passport required!

Island Eats brings the spirit of the Caribbean to the heart of the city, uniting food lovers, music fans, and culture enthusiasts. Visitors can expect bold flavours, pulsing rhythms, and vibrant cultural displays. From jerk chicken and doubles to pepper pot and tropical mocktails, the festival is a feast for the senses.

“Island Eats is more than just a festival. It's a love letter to our Caribbean roots,” says Petronilla Marchan, Festival Manager. “It’s a space where cultures connect, traditions thrive, and the community comes together to dance, eat, and celebrate.”

Guests can enjoy a variety of sweet treats, tropical dishes, and refreshing beverages at the "Breeze and Brews" bar, which serves cocktails, mocktails, and Caribbean beer. This year’s food lineup features returning favourites and exciting newcomers, including:

  • Drupati’s Scarborough – Known for iconic doubles, roti, and authentic Trini soul food
  • The Corn Soup King – Famous for rich, spice-packed soup pots
  • Catered Delights – Offering bold Caribbean flavours in every bite

Live Entertainment & Cultural Performances.

Island Eats promises a weekend of non-stop entertainment featuring:

  • Carnival characters and moko jumbies in full costume
  • Rhythm & Pan on D’ Greens – Live steelpan performances
  • DJs spinning soca, calypso, reggae, and dancehall throughout the day
  • Pop-up performances and cultural showcases
