Cameroonian singer, music producer, and songwriter Salatiel will embark on an exclusive Canadian tour starting June 14, 2025. A key figure in the African music scene, Salatiel is known for his versatility, artistic commitment, and numerous accolades earned since 2019. He recently released his new single "Fine Pikin" on June 1st, now available on all digital platforms.
Originally from Tiko, a city in the southwest of Cameroon, Salatiel discovered music at a young age. A trained pianist, drummer, singer, and producer who learned alongside Emile Ngumbah, he broke into the music scene in 2014 with the hit “Fap Kolo”, which won MTN Cameroon’s Make the Music competition. His journey has been marked by major successes, including a standout collaboration with Beyoncé and Pharrell Williams on the song “Water”, featured on the 2019 album The Lion King: The Gift, where he proudly represented Francophone Africa.
In 2013, Salatiel founded Alpha Better Records a label that launched the careers of artists like Mr Leo, Daphne, Askia, and Blaise B. He has produced over 300 artists, composed for legends such as Manu Dibango, Youssou N'Dour, and Charlotte Dipanda, and has arranged more than 3,000 songs.
His latest album, Family Man, released in July 2024 and awarded Album of the Year at the CIMFEST Awards, delves deeply into the theme of family. With a sound that blends afro-soul and amapiano, Salatiel embodies the modern African father, navigating responsibility, sacrifice, and unconditional love. The title track, written in a single burst of inspiration, offers a heartfelt portrait of everyday family life and a tribute to values of togetherness.
The Canadian tour will kick off on June 14 at the Solstice Festival in Saint-Georges and on July 5 at Afrofest, , in Toronto, one of the largest African music festivals in Canada.
