A new month brings a powerful voice to the forefront of Canadian music. Grammy Award-winning R&B artist Melanie Fiona has been named the June ambassador for Spotify’s EQUAL Canada playlist—a celebration of her impact, artistry, and ongoing evolution as one of the country’s most cherished musical talents.

Cameroonian singer, music producer, and songwriter Salatiel will embark on an exclusive Canadian tour starting June 14, 2025. A key figure in the African music scene, Salatiel is known for his versatility, artistic commitment, and numerous accolades earned since 2019. He recently released his new single "Fine Pikin" on June 1st, now available on all digital platforms.
Originally from Tiko, a city in the southwest of Cameroon, Salatiel discovered music at a young age. A trained pianist, drummer, singer, and producer who learned alongside Emile Ngumbah, he broke into the music scene in 2014 with the hit “Fap Kolo”, which won MTN Cameroon’s Make the Music competition. His journey has been marked by major successes, including a standout collaboration with Beyoncé and Pharrell Williams on the song “Water”, featured on the 2019 album The Lion King: The Gift, where he proudly represented Francophone Africa.

Toronto-based composer and drummer Larnell Lewis is celebrating a career milestone with his second JUNO Award nomination—this time for Jazz Album of the Year (Solo) for his introspective and genre-blending album Slice of Life.
