My guest on this episode is Candace Daniel, a first-generation Canadian broadcast journalist who now works at Corus and Global News. She hosts Global News Morning.
Born in Toronto and raised in Scarborough/Pickering to Bajan and Trinidadian parents, Candace began her professional career working for the local government at the City of Pickering. Following her mother's cancer diagnosis, she was later inspired to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a reporter, pressing home the precariousness of life.
Throughout her decade-long journalism career, she has covered major news stories, including the Rob Ford scandal, the 2015 Federal Election, and the Jian Ghomeshi trial – demonstrating her passion for storytelling.
